What is your educational background? I graduated from Xi’an Jiaotong University with a bachelor’s degree in science; majoring in mathematical Economics & Finance. During my four years in college, I took courses in Econometrics, Financial Risk Management, Financial Markets and Institutions, Money and Banking, Advanced Mathematics, and Applied Statistics.

Why did you choose the MSFE Program? I am intrigued by the program’s academic reputation, rigorous but encouraging academic atmosphere, and renowned professors. The well-designed course structure delivered jointly by the Wisconsin School of Business’ Finance Department and the Department of Economics, provides me with essential quantitative methods to conduct financial analysis as well as financial applications.

What do you enjoy about Madison? I spent a summer at UW-Madison in 2019 as a visiting international student. It was a fantastic experience. I studied political science, as well as enhanced my English language skills.

What are your career aspirations? After graduating from the MSFE Program, I will return China to work, and also look after my parents. I look forward to the possibility of contributing more to the development of finance and economics in my hometown.
