What is your educational background? I graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Xiamen University in China, earning dual degrees in Marine Science and Finance.
Why did you choose the MSFE program at UW-Madison? UW-Madison is a world-renowned university, particularly in the fields of economics and business. I learned about this school early on, as many of my undergraduate professors had studied or worked here. The MSFE program is an integrated program combining finance and economics, allowing us to access cutting-edge knowledge in economics and providing more diverse career options in the future.
What is your favorite thing to do in Madison or what is your favorite part about living in Madison? Madison is a peaceful small town where everyone can feel kindness from the people around them. The scenery here is beautiful, and the pace of life is slow. I feel that I can truly enjoy life here, while also having extra energy to devote to my studies and work.
What has been your favorite class or what are you most looking forward to taking? My favorite course so far is FIN730. Professor Adam R. Smedema made a deep impression on us by explaining financial terms with many vivid real-life examples. His teaching style makes complex topics easier to understand.
What are your career aspirations? I’d like to work in an investment bank in the future, where I can apply my academic knowledge and analytical skills.
