What is your educational background? My undergraduate major is financial engineering. I did my undergraduate work in Hangzhou in China.
Why did you choose this program? MSFE courses emphasizes modern quantitative methods in financial economics and econometrics, and teaches theories to guide financial practice and the analytical skills required to perform advanced financial analysis. These are the directions I want to delve into. In addition, UW-Madison has a rich tradition in economics, econometrics and finance.
What is your favorite thing to do in Madison or what is your favorite part about living in Madison? My favorite thing to do is to have dinner with my friends and discuss the interesting things that have happened lately, as well as their respective plans.
What has been your favorite class or what are you most looking forward to taking? My favorite class is Fin 720 (Investment Theory and Practice). Every week we get to watch instructional videos and it’s a fun way to learn.
What are your career aspirations? In a short term, I hope to be able to work in a securities company as a wealth consultant, know the characteristics of various financial products, and do my own job well. As far as my long-term career goal, I plan to be able to independently serve high-value customers and put forward my own pertinent opinions on asset allocation through understanding them.
