What is your educational background? I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in economics and a master’s degree in business economics, both in Thailand. I have worked as an economist at the Public Debt Management Office (PDMO), Ministry of Finance, Thailand, for over 5 years.
Why did you choose the MSFE program at UW-Madison? The MSFE program combines both finance and economics, which provide the essential knowledge to deeply understand updated financial theories, techniques, and tools that can be applied to improve debt portfolio management. My key interests are fixed-income securities, data analytics, and derivative securities for economists that are provided by MSFE at UW-Madison.
What is your favorite thing to do in Madison or what is your favorite part about living in Madison? There are plenty of wonderful places to visit in Madison. I love going to the State Capitol to take pictures at different times of the day. I also enjoy doing outdoor activities such as hiking, sports, and café hopping. I am looking forward to joining the winter festival in Madison!
What has been your favorite class or what are you most looking forward to taking? I am looking forward to taking Fixed Income Securities (Fin 740) because I have a professional background related to government bonds and Treasury Bills. I hope that my experience will be beneficial for the class diversity, and I expect to gain theories and real-world financial tools and techniques from this course.
What are your career aspirations? I will apply both theories and case studies I learn in the classroom to achieve my career goal of becoming a financial model specialist and a better policymaker at PDMO in the future.
