What is your educational background? I did my undergraduate studies at Tashkent Branch of Plekhanov Russian University of Economics , where I majored in Finance and Credit. I have worked as an economist at the Ministry of Economy and Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan. My last position was Deputy Director of the Coordination and Analysis Department.

Why did you choose the MSFE program at UW-Madison? The MSFE program offers a solid blend of finance and economics, equipping me with the advanced knowledge, theories, and practical tools needed to enhance debt portfolio management.

What is your favorite thing to do in Madison or what is your favorite part about living in Madison? Madison has a wonderfully laid-back atmosphere that I really enjoy for its peacefulness and relaxed pace. As a bodybuilding enthusiast, I also love training at Bakke gym, where I can take in the beautiful lake view—it’s an ideal spot for me!

What has been your favorite class or what are you most looking forward to taking? All my courses have been rewarding, and the professors are genuinely supportive. Professor Adam, for instance, is exceptionally kind and brings great energy to his teaching and guidance.

What are your career aspirations? My aspiration is to become a skilled financial modeling specialist and a more effective policymaker at the Ministry of Economy and Finance.
