What is your educational background? Where did you do your undergrad work? I studied as an undergraduate at the Business School of Shanghai Dianji University, China, majoring in International Economics and Trade. I participated in the school’s exchange program and studied Finance in the Business School of the University of Northern Iowa.
Why did you choose this program? This program caters to my academic interest as well as career needs. I am drawn to the Investment Theory and Practice course as it will teach me how to use a variety of risk assessment tools and financial models to create investment portfolios and maximize returns. I am also excited about the Entrepreneurial Finance course, which will allow me to study relevant case studies and learn how financial accounting and corporate investment can be used to generate practical experience in corporate income using strategic models and digital technology.
What is your favorite thing to do in Madison or what is your favorite part about living in Madison? My favorite thing to do in Madison is to exercise and play basketball with my friends. Madison has good fitness equipment and a wide sports field.
What has been your favorite class or what are you most looking forward to taking? My favorite course is FIN 730 (Derivative Securities – Theory and Practice. I hope to learn more about securities and stocks through this course, which will be of great help both in the future to enter the financial industry and to manage my own finances.
What are your career aspirations? I want to work in a securities company after graduation.
