What is your educational background? For my undergraduate education, I majored in Agricultural Economics with the concentration of Consumer Economics and Finance, at University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
Why did you choose the MSFE program at UW-Madison? There are two reasons behind my decision of choosing the MSFE program – one is purely utilitarian and the other is mainly emotional. For the utilitarian side, I think the MSFE program is a unique program that combines the essence of two interrelated subjects: Finance and Economics. With the wider range of knowledge the MSFE program covers, I believe choosing this program will help me become more versatile. For the emotional side, my best friend in high school also chooses to study at UW-Madison for PhD.
What is your favorite thing to do in Madison or what is your favorite part about living in Madison? I really like reading and playing video games – those are always my two biggest hobbies. My favorite part of living in Madison is that I have a lot of friends as people here are very friendly and nice.
What has been your favorite class or what are you most looking forward to taking? For now, my favorite class is Finance 720 (Investment Theory and Practice) – I just find the content in this class interesting.
What are your career aspirations? I do not have a clear career aspiration for now, but I do want to try and see whether I could apply to a PhD degree first – so that would be my priority.
